We are excited to announce that OpenHands Enterprise now supports Bitbucket Data Center. Any user within an Organization in OpenHands Enterprise can sign in with their Bitbucket Data Center credentials, trigger AI-powered development workflows directly from pull request comments, and work on repositories without manually cloning them.

This integration brings three core capabilities to your Bitbucket Data Center environment: seamless single sign-on, trigger OpenHands by calling @openhands in your pull request comments, and automatic repository cloning for new conversations.

Why we built this

Enterprise teams running Bitbucket Data Center often have strict security requirements around authentication and network access. They cannot use cloud-based integrations, but need to bring the power of OpenHands into the development workflow With this integration, we enable OpenHands to work with Bitbucket Data Center environments.

Sign in with Bitbucket Data Center

OpenHands Enterprise now supports signing in with your Bitbucket Data Center credentials. Once an administrator configures the integration, users simply click "Sign in with Bitbucket Data Center" on the login page.

This eliminates password management and leverages your existing Bitbucket user accounts and permissions. OpenHands uses OAuth 2.0 to authenticate, ensuring secure, token-based access without sharing credentials.

Trigger OpenHands from Pull Request Comments

Once the webhook is installed on a repository, developers can trigger OpenHands by adding a comment containing @openhands to any pull request. Inline comments are also supported.

OpenHands starts a resolver job that includes the PR title, description, current comments, and the triggering comment. It then analyzes the code, performs reviews, and can even implement changes — replying back to the pull request when the job starts and completes.

This brings AI-powered code review directly into your existing Bitbucket review workflow, without requiring developers to switch contexts or manually trigger actions in separate tools.

Automatic Repository Cloning

When OpenHands starts a session for Bitbucket Data Center development work, it automatically clones the relevant repository into the sandbox environment. Developers do not need to manually clone repositories or set up their local environment.

OpenHands uses the authenticated user's credentials to list repositories and clone the code directly from your Bitbucket Data Center instance. This means OpenHands always has access to the latest code, and permissions are automatically enforced based on each user's Bitbucket access rights.

Getting Started

Organization administrators can configure the Bitbucket Data Center integration in the OpenHands Enterprise Admin Console. Once configured, the integration is immediately available to all users in the organization.
