We’re excited to announce that any user within an Organization in OpenHands Cloud can now trigger AI-powered development workflows directly from their Jira Cloud project.

Mention @openhands or add the openhands label to start a workflow directly from a Jira issue, whether you want to investigate a bug, create a technical plan, refine requirements, or move toward a pull request.

Why we built this

Development teams lose hours every sprint to context-switching—copying ticket details, finding repos, cloning them, and re-explaining the problem to yet another tool. We built this integration to eliminate that friction and provide a quick, out-of-the-box “Issue to PR” workflow for your engineering teams.

Previously, this integration required each user in an Organization to set up the integration individually. Now, Organization Admins can configure the integration once and make it available to all users immediately.

Beyond simple “Issue to PR” scenarios, there are several other ways you can use the Jira Cloud integration:

• Product Managers who want to pair with OpenHands to refine a user story

• Tech Leads who want to generate a tech plan before implementation

• Developers who want to verify a bug before moving forward with a PR

How it works

Once enabled by an administrator, anyone in an OpenHands Enterprise organization can mention @openhands in a Jira comment or apply the openhands label to an issue to instantly spawn a new conversation in your OpenHands organizational workspace.

When a repository is specified in the comment or ticket body, OpenHands automatically clones that repository using your configured Git connection and begins working on the issue. However, if no repository is specified, OpenHands can still start a session to perform non-coding tasks like requirements analysis, or conducting research.

OpenHands Enterprise delivers a broad ecosystem of integrations

In addition to Jira Cloud, OpenHands Enterprise already supports Azure DevOps (including Azure Repos and Azure Boards), Bitbucket Data Center, Jira Data Center, Slack and major Git providers: GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket Cloud.

What’s Coming
